WHAT IS INTIMACY DIRECTING?
Intimacy Directing is a consent-based practice focused on the safety and wellness of actors. An intimacy director is part of the production team, creating a safe work environment for vulnerable acts on stage, while upholding the integrity of the production. An intimacy director acts as a choreographer, an advocate for actors, and a liaison between actors and production for theatrical scenes that involve intimate physical contact.
WHAT IS DRAMA THERAPY?
Drama Therapy is an active, experiential approach to facilitating change. Participants are invited to rehearse desired behaviors, practice being in relationship, expand and find flexibility between life roles, and perform the change they wish to be and see in the world. Drama therapy uses play, embodiment, projection, role, story, metaphor, empathy, distancing, witnessing, performance, and improvisation to help people make meaningful change.
